A reasonable supporter of gender equality would say, "Yes. Men are generally physically stronger than women. Women also live longer. Men are usually taller. Women have better immune systems. And all of that is OK!"
Trying to deny that men and women are different at all isn't supporting gender equality; it's simply sweeping the issue under the rug.
Physical differences in people aren't just OK, they're good! Personally, I really like the fact that men and women don't have the exact same bodies. All of the differences in people make them more interesting, and putting our physical differences in perspective is a much better approach then putting our fingers in our ears and pretending the differences don't exist at all.
